The need: Diaspora families in Kensington & Chelsea often lacked access to organised, affordable summer activities for their children, activities that build community as much as they build childhood memories.
What UNA Global South did: We convened and advised on community-led summer programming, connecting local diaspora groups with funding support and organisational guidance through our partnership with the Westway Trust, who helped these groups access National Lottery funding for their activities.
The outcome: Locally organised, sustained summer programming for diaspora families, run by the communities themselves with our support behind the scenes.
